Ocean Technology Systems is the industry leader in Underwater Communications Equipment. We are in need of a dedicated and reliable Electronic Technician. You will be a valuable part of our production team, ensuring our production deadlines and goals are met in a timely fashion while observing the highest standards of safety and quality.
Job Duties:
- Perform troubleshooting and repair to the component level to support multiple production lines on the production floor.
- Provide backup for other technicians as needed.
- Evaluate product schematics and determine best troubleshooting techniques.
- Set up test equipment, perform tests per Ocean Technology Systems documentation, collect results, and maintain appropriate logs, report trends and other findings
- Assist electrical engineers with developing and refining test procedures and building test fixtures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of standard products in accordance with Ocean Technology Systems test and quality procedures.
- Train junior technical personnel in safety, quality, troubleshooting and productivity
- Provides technical expertise in problem analysis and solutions to associates in other departments.
- Other duties as assigned / documented
Knowledge and Abilities
- Experience working with and assembling hardware systems (mechanical & electrical hardware)
- Familiar with Radio Frequency (RF) measurement equipment and testing techniques
- Experience with test equipment including signal generators, oscilloscopes, volt meters, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and network analyzers
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, working in a team environment
- Demonstrated experience in production/manufacturing test procedures and advanced electronics troubleshooting and repair
- Strong background in troubleshooting and fixing surface mount devices
- Ability to evaluate PCBA schematics and layouts and determine best troubleshooting techniques.
- Attention to detail, quick problem-solving ability, and ability to develop solutions and workarounds for unanticipated technical problems
- Soldering & de-soldering
- Hands-on skills to disassemble and re-assemble complex electronic devices
- Ability to read and understand electrical engineering drawings, including schematics, layouts and other technical documents
Two shifts available –
9/80:
- Monday-Thursday: 6:30 am – 4 pm
- Friday: 6:30 am – 3pm (every other Friday off)
10/80
- Monday-Thursday: 7:30 am – 4pm
- Friday: 6:30 – 3 pm
